ABOUT NEW KEN SOCIAL

New Ken Social as a building takes many forms. New Ken Social as a concept  has  a very distinct mission of    providing both a space and the opportunity for people to come together after a time of widespread separation and isolation.

New Ken Social is a building complex  which formerly housed both a Presbyterian Church starting in  1898 and the Salvation Army starting in 1973!  The building has long stood as a central point of the downtown area of New Kensington and, in fact, is the default picture that comes up when you Google the  name of the city!

The chapel has been fully rehabilitated and modernized in order to provide an event space that has hosted everything ranging from  speaking events to photo and video filming productions to bachelor and bachelorette parties!  There is an accompanying social hall that has hosted family reunions, record conventions, food festivals, birthday and graduation parties and has even housed movie production filming needs.

The remainder of the building faciliates a  massive record shop by the name of Preserving alongside its sister endeavors, Preserving and Preserving Underground; 350 and 800 person capacity concert venues respectively.

New Ken Social serves as both an asset to the revitalization process currently happening in New Kensington's Downtown sector as well as being an anchor to what is being called the "Corridor Of Innovation"; an initiative to promote both technological and economic growth in the area.

Downtown New Kensington is in the midst of its renaissance and our aspiration is to work alongside all of the other entrepreneurs and pioneers doing their part to make this all come together.
